When renting a property you are responsible for paying Council Tax to the local authority, utilities bills (water, electricity, gas & telephone etc), television licence & contents insurance.

  Landlord responsibilities:

Ensure the property is habitable at the start of the tenancy

  Tenant responsibilities:

Maintenance such as blocked drains, sweeping chimneys, replacing fuses and bulbs
